13/07/2010John + Adeline

John and Adeline both nature lovers as they travel the world bird watching. Jean and I hit it off with them instantly as both of us travel the world as well, seeking the mysterious and beautiful ocean life (paul). Nope we’ve never seen an octopus before while scuba diving. Well loved by Mother Nature, you’ll see that in the images, they had an awesome morning of beautiful sunlight.

What is Adeline’s favourite dinosaur?

I’ve no idea what’s going on.

my favourite moment of the bride getting into the car.

09/07/2010David + Cindy (Bridal Portraits)

Blessed with great weather, this was an awesome session with David and Cindy. And in the hands of Jacqueline Law, the hair and makeup styling was gorgeous. It transformed Cindy, who has never put on makeup before into a rock star bride (she is a big fan of cantopop star Sammi Cheng).

We started the shoot at Crowne Plaza at T3 of Changi Airport; I love the green carpeting just outside the ballroom. For this bridal portrait, I wanted to do something out of what I usually do, I went a little darker and also exploring the use of multiple lightings.

Hi, this is Jean. =D

My first post on the blog shall be dedicated to my one passion (besides bryan, hee) – the sea, the water and everything else related to it. Don’t worry, I will share some wedding images as we go along. =P

Growing up, a huge part of my life was spend in the swimming pool; I spent half the day in school and the other half of the day in the pool. So it should come as no surprised that I picked up scuba diving and that the underwater world and all its wonderful marine creatures fascinates me. It was just a matter of time.

I’m certainly no “shark lover” by any means; I mean none of us scuba divers are specifically “shark lovers”. What we love is the experience underwater, the weightlessness, the peacefulness, the whole other world that we are lucky enough to see, the beautiful marine creatures and the gorgeous gorgeous seascapes.

My favourite thing that I want to see when I go diving is by no means sharks; yes they’re rare to see because, believe it or not, they are extremely shy AND also because their numbers have greatly declined. So when I get to see them, I’ll get excited. And trust me, sharks look MAJESTIC, they’re like horses; you see their muscular bodies moving elegantly and it’s BREATHTAKING.

Scuba diving opened me to a whole new world of beauty that I’ve learned to appreciate and cherish. As cliché as it sounds, we’re all part of the circle of life. We need them and they need as just as much if not more, especially now.

Stay tuned for more about saving the sharks!

03/07/2010Wei Sam + Audrey (Casual Portraits)

Casual portraits is all about having fun, being goofy and reminiscing the past. I definitely had fun with Wei Sam and Audrey as we started the session at the supermarket. It’s probably the best place to shoot, with the air-con, wide variety of drinks and food available and an abundance of props. More importantly, this casual session brought them back in time.

We went through how they both met in National University of Singapore and they stayed in the same hall. During the session, Wei Sam and Audrey shared with me some of the most interesting things I heard about staying in the hall.

Best part of all, visiting the grounds of NUS, evoked memories of my earlier dating days with Jean where I’d crash her lectures, accompanying her through the final year project and then heading for dinner after.

it’s chicken tonight, it’s chicken tonight

Soup of the day!

There is a story about how birthdays are celebrated in the hall

03/07/2010Choon Kiat + Pei Xuan

I shall start with some words to describe Choon Kiat and Pei Xuan’s wedding; really high energy, extremely cheerful and ultimately relaxing.

It was a luncheon held at the Changi Village Hotel, but of course the wedding kicked off in the morning with the bridesmaids giving the groomsmen a hard time. The energy level was really high and it showed vividly in the images the personality of Choon Kiat and Pei Xuan. Both of them are always full of smiles starting from the first time I met them and their presence will never fail to send the happy-o-meter to the max. The wonderful day ended with bridal portraits while we try to trash the dress in the nearby woods

Getting dressed in her gown by Michelle Huimin.

While the guys haggled their way in

No mean feat for Choon Kiat.

I always like how brides get in and out of the car. Some of the finest moments of the wedding day.

The confetti misfired, apparently by an over enthusiastic guest.

for love, for life

And the crowd goes wild!!!!

and wilder!!!!

For some time of their own…

one for each

There I said, “please try to smile without teeth.”

Some really beautiful light in the woods

Lets trash it!

Not after we’ve gotten more gorgeous portraits of the couple.

Last but not least, a really wonderful shot by Jean.
